Mayssa Salama holds a Bachelor degree in English Studies & is pursuing an ongoing Master’s degree from Mohammed V University in Rabat.

Her journalism career began in 2009 at Al Massae newspaper where she authored a weekly column dedicated to women's issues. By 2010, she joined Hespress delivering daily sharp sociopolitical criticism.

Over 18 years, she has built a massive social media influence with 2 million followers, while expanding her presence to international outlets like Hunasotak, DW, Jazeera Talk, Huffington Post Arabic, BBC, Sky News..

Raised as a Muslim, she was writing in her early years through a conservatism lens. In 2018, she thoroughly revised all inherited dogmas, & has been advocating for individual freedom; while resiliently navigating public scrutiny & systemic targeting by the government.
